Following this inspirational visit, our pupils put theory into practice by participating in our very own Chesterfield School Parliament Elections. The elections were set up just like the real thing, giving the children an authentic experience of the democratic process. Every step mirrored a real election: pupils received official polling cards and cast their ballots in private voting booths to ensure confidentiality. 

This year, we have introduced a wide range of exciting and important roles, ensuring every pupil has a chance to step up and shine—from our Head Students, vibrant School Parliament and dedicated Eco-Warriors to focused roles like Games Makers, Librarians and Attendance Champions.

We encourage all pupils to be leaders in their own way—through showing our school values every day: kindness, respect, responsibility and resilience.

To round off our celebration, we welcomed Father Stephen from the Church of SS Peter and Paul for a special Harvest assembly. He spoke about the traditions and true meaning behind the Harvest Festival—thankfulness for food and sharing with others.

Later that same day, Kerry returned to collect the wonderful mountain of donations, with the help of our fantastic Head Students. We are so proud of our school community for showing such kindness.

Our athletes displayed exceptional skills and, of course our Chesterfield Values:

• Resilience: Every runner showed remarkable resilience, pushing themselves to try their best and finish the race, no matter how tough it got.
• Kindness & Respect: Our runners demonstrated great kindness by encouraging not only their teammates but also runners from other schools.
• Responsibility: They took responsibility for their own preparation, arriving ready and focused, and representing our school with pride

Each week, we celebrate the amazing things our children do every single day! We use this time to present two special awards:

• Values Certificates: Every class teacher nominates one child each week who has gone above and beyond to display one of our Chesterfield Values—whether it's Kindness, Respect, Resilience or Responsibility.
• 'Always Stars': These highly-prized awards are given to children who are truly exceptional. 'Always Stars' are pupils who consistently show all our values and always go that extra mile—either in their classwork or by always showing exceptional kindness and empathy on the playground.
