Spanish Day

Today we celebrated our love of languages during our Spanish Day. Children in Year 3–6 dressed in the colours of Spanish-speaking countries, learnt new words and phrases, and explored the rich geography and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries around the world.

Tottenham Hotspur Fun Day

Our pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5 enjoyed an exciting Football Fun Day led by professional coaches from Tottenham Hotspur. The children took part in skill sessions, team games and mini-tournaments designed to build their football confidence, teamwork and sportsmanship. A big thank you to the Tottenham Hotspur coaches for inspiring our young athletes and giving them such a fun, memorable day of sport!

Harvest Festival

We were delighted to welcome Father Stephen from SS Peter and Paul Church to launch our Harvest celebrations with a special whole-school assembly explaining the true meaning of Harvest. A huge thank you to all our families for donating so generously to this year's appeal. Our Pupil Parliament representatives proudly sorted all the donations into boxes they had decorated before handing them to the Enfield Foodbank, where your support will make a real difference to local families in need.

Exploring Autumn in Reception

Our Reception children have settled brilliantly into school life and are doing a fantastic job adapting to their new daily routines. They have already been hard at work building their early reading and counting confidence through daily phonics and maths sessions. Learning has also been hands-on outdoors, where the children have been exploring autumn and planting bulbs to look forward to in spring.

Chesterfield's Footballers Shine on the Pitch!

Well done to our Chesterfield boys, who have been proudly representing our school in the borough football league at Lea Valley after school on Mondays. Competing against other schools, the boys have shown fantastic teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship, celebrating wins and learning from losses. Keep up the great work!

Harvest Assembly

Cross Country

A huge well done to our Chesterfield girls and boys cross-country teams! With around 100 children competing in each race, our runners showed incredible resilience and determination to tackle the challenging 2km course. A special mention goes to Giovanni, who finished an amazing 3rd place. Having finished 35th in the same race last year, Giovanni was determined to beat his personal best — and what an achievement! A fantastic example of resilience in action.

Playtime Quiet Zone

We are excited to share that our Playtime Quiet Zone has had a makeover! Our Quiet Zone provides a calm, restful alternative for children who want a lower-sensory environment during break time and lunchtime. We’ve refreshed the area with brand-new resources and comfortable spaces, giving pupils a calm haven to recharge their batteries, self-regulate or spend quiet time with friends.

What’s new in the Quiet Zone:

A fresh collection of books for quiet, independent reading or sharing stories.
Plenty of paper, drawing tools, and mindfulness colouring sheets.
New jigsaws and logic games that encourage focus.
Building sets for collaborative, quiet play.

It’s fantastic to see the children taking full advantage of the revamped space and taking care of the new equipment!

Chesterfield Carnival

To celebrate the end of term, we had a fantastic Football World Cup themed carnival! The whole school was full of energy and smiles all day with our staff v Y6 football match, penalty shoot-out challenge, fun dance sessions and arts and craft sessions.

Year 6 Leaver's Disco

Y1 visit to Hertfordshire Zoo

Year 1 had an unforgettable adventure at Hertfordshire Zoo spotting tall camels, stripy zebras and adorable capybaras! We had a 'mini-meet' with a zookeeper who told us all about lions and how they live and hunt.

We decided to bring the seaside to Chesterfield during the hot weather! The children stayed safe, hydrated and wonderfully cool at our very own pop-up beach. From cooling down their toes in paddling pools and munching on ice pops, to dancing along to beach tunes and playing bubbles and beach games, a fantastic (and refreshing!) time was had by all!

Chesterfield Reading Fiesta

We celebrated our love of reading today at our Reading Fiesta! As well as extra stories in class, there was a bookmark design competition and the chance to share our favourite stories with children in a different year group.

Mini Marathon

Our mini marathon was a huge success! After a whole-school warm-up, children ran their marathons around our heart line to music and bubbles to raise money for our school playground. Well done to all who took part!

National Numeracy Day

To celebrate National Numeracy Day, we took part in a live Times Tables Rock Stars national game of ‘Would You Rather’ for primary schools, exploring savvy spending and how we make money choices in our families and communities. Year 5 children explored how numeracy is used in real life by setting up and running their very own shop!

School Library Reopening

Our school library has had a makeover and we are really happy with the results! The children love visiting the library for their weekly class session. Our library is also open at break and lunch times when our fabulous librarians are on hand to recommend books, read to children and help grow that love of reading! From a magical doorway to an enchanted land, a cosy fireplace and owls to flying books and keys (and even a flying broomstick!), our new library is an inspiring place for children to read and learn.

Earth Day 2026

Today we celebrated Earth Day and took part in a Switch Off. Lights, screens and electronic devices were all turned off during the morning and the children made an ‘Earth Day Pledge’ after using their oracy strategies to discuss environmental issues. In the afternoon, children made sustainable bunting to use at our Mini Marathon!

Year 4 ukeleles

Our Year 2 children performed with confidence and enjoyment at both the Partnership Festival and our parent concert. They had perfected their performance skills, singing beautifully with actions - and even learnt a song in Welsh!

A visit from the Fire Brigade!

Children in Reception and Nursery enjoyed a visit from the London Fire Brigade today. The children were so excited to explore the fire engine and to hear about the firefighters’ incredible work. We are extremely grateful to the team from our local fire station who took time out of their very busy day to visit us!

Christmas Performances

We enjoyed fantastic Christmas performances this week from all year groups. From fabulous performance poetry from Years 3 - 6, to Christmas song and craft sessions from our SRP, Nursery and Year 2 children, to concerts from Reception, Year 1 and our school choir. Thank you to all famillies who attended to support their children. Through these performances, children are developing their confidence as well as their speaking and listening skills.

Today, our school was transformed into a vibrant art studio during our whole-school Art Day. From Nursery through to Year 6, every child stepped into the shoes of a professional artist, exploring the lives and techniques of creators from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.

UK Parliament Week at Chesterfield

We have had a busy and exciting week celebrating UK Parliament Week. To kick things off, we had an assembly from the Parliament Outreach Team who shared an engaging and informative session about how the UK Parliament and democracy works and the importance of making our voices heard. This is following the fundamental British Value of Democracy

Following this inspirational visit, our pupils put theory into practice by participating in our very own Chesterfield School Parliament Elections. The elections were set up just like the real thing, giving the children an authentic experience of the democratic process. Every step mirrored a real election: pupils received official polling cards and cast their ballots in private voting booths to ensure confidentiality.
