Welcome to our Music page! At Chesterfield, we believe that music is a powerful and joyful way for children to express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others.

Our Music curriculum provides a rich and varied experience, encouraging pupils to explore sounds, develop their musicality, and appreciate a wide range of genres. Children engage in activities that include:

• Listening and Appraising: Discovering different styles of music and understanding how they are created.
• Performing: Singing, playing instruments, and performing together. We are especially proud of our vibrant school choir, which gives children the chance to sing in harmony and perform for the school community, and our exciting Ukulele programme, where every child learns to play this wonderful instrument, building foundational instrumental skills.
• Composing: Creating their own musical pieces, experimenting with rhythm, melody, and texture.

Through music, we aim to foster creativity, discipline, and a lifelong love for the arts. We hope you enjoy seeing and hearing about the wonderful musical journeys our children are on!
