Computing

Welcome to our Computing page! In today's fast-paced digital world, we believe it's incredibly important for our pupils to become confident, capable, and safe users of technology. We're proud that every child at Chesterfield has their own Chromebook, providing them with regular, hands-on access to digital tools right in the classroom.

Our Computing curriculum goes beyond simply using computers; it's about understanding how they work, how to create with them, and how to navigate the online world responsibly. We use exciting platforms like NearPod to deliver engaging and interactive lessons, making learning about technology even more dynamic and personalised for each child.

Children at Chesterfield learn about:

  • Computer Science: Exploring the principles of how computers think, including coding, algorithms, and problem-solving through programming.
  • Information Technology: Developing practical skills using a variety of software and hardware to create, organise, and present information.
  • Digital Literacy: Learning how to be safe, responsible, and respectful online citizens, understanding the impact of technology, and knowing how to get help if needed.

We aim to spark curiosity and creativity in our young learners, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in an increasingly digital future. We hope you enjoy seeing the amazing digital projects our children are working on!
